Highlighting the importance of biodiversity to ensure a sustainable future is now a European and global priority and imperative. Respectively for "TYTO", the development of communication channels and raising awareness is of paramount importance, in order to educate environmentally conscious citizens of tomorrow and contribute to the transition towards a more sustainable model of agricultural management.

In this context, the “Association for Management and Conservation of Biodiversity in Agricultural Ecosystems” - "TYTO" prepares the implementation of educational and awareness activities to targeted audiences:

Farmers, stockbreeders and agricultural managers

The aforementioned are the ones directly involved in the implementation of our project, directly affected by the climate crisis and the degradation of ecosystems’ services, and the loss of biodiversity in agriculture, but also those who directly benefit from the implementation of our program in their agricultural holdings. Organized agricultural cooperatives are also included in this group.

Municipalities, Decentralized Administration, Prefectures and in particular the Directorates of Agricultural Economy and Veterinary Medicine (DAVM) of the Local Governments

The aforementioned are the main regional and local administrative bodies that largely decide and implement the agricultural strategy by taking measures and organizing activities. These bodies include both the elected and the permanent administrators of the competent departments that form the political and regulatory framework.

Central Administration - Ministry of Environment and Energy / Ministry of Rural Development and Food

We work with representatives of the country’s Central Administration who are responsible for the environmental and agricultural management to support them in the policy-making and decision-making processes. We capitalize on our scientific knowledge, our extensive networking in Europe and around the world, and the results of all the research projects we conduct, to equip the Central Administration with technical reports and opinions that will help them make informed decisions. We participate in business meetings and summits to bring in our perspective, knowledge and experience

Primary and secondary education students

We focus on the school community. We will seek to clearly convey the message of the importance of biodiversity conservation in agriculture and how these two are so powerfully connected. What do ecosystem services mean? How the intensification and expansion of agriculture degrades life and the environment in general? Targeted educational material and related learning kits are being developed.

Professionals in the agri-food sector

A variety of professionals operating in the processing sector, mechanical harvesting and transportation, packaging and trade of agricultural products, play an important role in shaping the agricultural landscape through their practices. In this context, it is important for them to deeply understand the potential and benefits of the added value that agricultural products can obtain when cultivated through "green" agricultural practices.

Countryside population

We will work to help citizens that live and work in the agricultural landscape to become aware of the importance of environmental practices in agricultural management. We will also raise their awareness regarding how these practices boost the economy of the area in which they live, and improve their overall quality of life.
